Mark J. Perman has been an actor for many years having begun his career in the 70’s on Broadway as a child performer in “Dude” and “Shenandoah”. He also has performed as an adult in many different productions and found a spiritual calling to become a cantor (Jewish sacred singer and clergy) in 1993. Mark has served several congregations as their cantor and is now proud to serve B’er Chayim Congregation in Cumberland as both their rabbi and cantor. He created “From Broadway to Bima” as a musical/educational program to integrate both worlds of secular performance and liturgical music. He is a graduate of Hebrew Union College and New York University along with New York City’s “famed” High School of Performing Arts.
